Mother, two daughters open new bakery on Kimbark Street
LONGMONT — Cathy Fiegenschuh has been baking and decorating cakes for about three decades.
But it took moving to Longmont and support from her two daughters — LeAnn Brietzke, 31, and Michelle Brietzke, 34 — to finally give the 58-year-old the push she needed to open her own bakery.
“You just have to take a leap of faith,” she said.
She and her two daughters are the founders and owners of La Momo Maes, a new bakery at 624 Kimbark St., that opened earlier this month. A grand opening is scheduled for this weekend.
The bakery handles specialty orders and sells seasonal treats. Right now, that includes peanut brittle, pumpkin bread and an assortment of cupcakes and cookies.
The bakery’s name, La Momo Maes, is a homage to the family’s involvement in the business.
